Useful for gradient borders without the old clip-path workarounds. Does this make the layered box-shadow technique for faking gradient borders basically obsolete, or are there still cases where shadow stacking is cleaner?

Good to know. I guess the main edge case left is if you need the border effect on something that already has a complex background, but that's pretty niche.
