joke's on you, the Backrooms people are renting it from a landlord with a lease that forbids screwing anything into the walls!
... is what I would say, but I know you'll respond with something about adhesive-based anchors.
What your landlord doesn't know won't kill them! Ours specified in the lease not to put *any* kind of nails or screws in the wall, but I'm convinced they wouldn't even know which were from the prior tenant, and it's not like they gave enough of a damn to patch those anyway.
I thought what my landlord didn't know wouldn't kill them, but they didn't know about the pit with poisoned punji stakes I dug, and wouldn'tcha know...
Unless the last thing to go through their mind was a poisoned punji stick, yeah, go team pedants! We don't always win, but when we do, it's on a technicality!
Spackle is cheap and easy. If you tell the hardware store what it's for they'll spin up a sample size of the paint match for you. And failing that? White toothpaste in the holes just before final walk-through. They give us the Landlord Special and they can get the Tenant Special right back.
