Less than a month before fires swept across Los Angeles, a group of longtime firefighters gathered at City Hall to plead for more resources. One revealed that million-dollar fire trucks sat idle because budget cuts had shrunk the number of mechanics available to fix them. Read more: cnn.it/4gL2spj

Here we go again, CNN trying to discredit and demonize LA and California. Just try to run the largest county in the United States, with about 9.6 million people. The city of angels alone has 3.8 million. Plus, FDs and PDs are always asking for more and more money. Everywhere.

You're so right. And this what gets me. LAFD isn't LA County FD which isn't the NFS which isn't CalFire. They conveniently left the others out. This article was pure bullshit. Other than the line that NOTHING was going to stop these fires from exploding.

Burying the lede... "Experts have said no fire department in the world would have been able to take on such a perfect storm of conditions that resulted in LA’s devastating blazes"

When I saw the masses coming after CNN as if they were somehow culpable for Trump winning I was fired up. It was childish. But having now seen your fire coverage, and KNOWING what you're doing and why you're doing it, I think they might have a point. Not about Trump. But about your real goals.

Junk journalism at its best. If the LAFD budget had doubled a year ago, would it have changed the trajectory of this fire incident? Absolutely not. This is why I'm never watching CNN again. The National Enquirer has more credibility at this point.

The state uses prison indentured servitude to recruit firefighters then bans most of them post release is no surprise they are understaffed when corporate prisons are getting paid to provide the coverage instead of training non prisoners or hiring post conviction
