No more Expo 🙏. Most devs are shocked to realise they can't open or work their apps unless they have an internet connection using Expo. React Native needs an opensource offline first experience like expo. @swmansion.com #expo #reactnative #react
This is what i meant. expo start without the --offline flag, the default behaviour is to reach out to api.expo.dev and fail if it can't. While the Expo Go app will freeze up regularly or just won't work sometimes without an internet connection.
As the `—offline` flag mentions, we ping the API to get a list of known dependencies that we use to check if you might be running incompatible `expo-*` packages for SDK 50. We also catch known offline related issues, unfortunately the EAI_AGAIN is a DNS error but doesn’t indicate you are offline.

For normal offline errors, we automatically switch to offline mode with a warning that it did. See: github.com/expo/expo/bl...
I added the `EAI_AGAIN` error to the offline detection (when fetch is failing). github.com/expo/expo/pu...
