The apparatus of collective meaning-making is now literally fixed capital. There’s a lot of abstract, subjective “firsts” that genAI is claiming, but I think the most significant one that there’s a single point of control over how we determine what anything means.

We have to steal fire from the gods, we have to steal the things that will be used to make meaning and make our own. We have to exclude capital from the moment of interpellation, and replace it with ourselves.
