Last week was a big one for our iOS app - we shipped the most significant update since I (Andy) released the very first version back in 2012. 🚀

The update touched nearly every file in the app: refreshing interfaces for iOS 26's Liquid Glass, introducing a brand-new visual design, and in many cases fully rewriting code from Objective-C & UIKit into Swift & SwiftUI. For the first time, the majority of the app is now Swift.

Over the years, we leaned too heavily on modals. With v15.0, the app can now swap out its main navigation entirely, adapting to better suit the task at hand. One example (and a teaser): Feeds, sitting right alongside Ideas. And we’re not done improving navigation just yet.

We’re now wrapping up work on our Community feature for its upcoming launch, and turning focus to finishing up rewriting our Composer, the last major part of the app still in Objective-C and UIKit.

The new Composer will deliver a smoother writing experience and add long awaited support for threaded posts. We’re also introducing powerful Shortcuts that allow you to populate as many channel fields as possible.

With v15.0, we now have a modern foundation that lets us move faster and unlock entirely new ways to add content to your Buffer accounts. We're working on similar updates to our Android app in the coming months. What would you love to see next in our mobile apps?
