Post

Since this post is still getting so much traction, I’ll put my shop link here. (I have anti-AI pins and so much more!) It’s not enough to be against AI, you have to support artists too if you can. We’ve lost so much work because of AI. shop.breelundberg.com

Challenge for everyone: if you passed by or stopped shopping or eating somewhere or skipped an event because of AI advertising, tell them. Send an email. Doesn’t need to be mean or confrontational, but if we want to encourage local places to do better, we have to tell them *why* they lost business.

I've passed through my share of like businesses lately -cafes, barber shops and such- which may have all their ducks in a row but the minute I spot some slop in their menu or signage, they're not getting my business. But I'll see how I can get their emails to explain them in due time.

I do & tend to use phrasing such as "hey I was interested in your (thing) but it concerns me that you used generated imagery to represent it. I don't know that I can trust the product to be safe or as advertised if you aren't showing what it really is" if relevant. Telling them WHY it's off-putting.
