A reminder to everyone who's into physical media not to order from yippee ki yay mother video, which was releasing all the albert pyun director's cuts. I canceled my preorders and told them why. See the full post from Roy Damm, who was running their actual production www.facebook.com/groups/11809...

Ew. I've never even heard of this business but I definitely won't forget this and have no plans on buying from them if I ever looking for physical media. I'll make sure my friends know too.

Incredible how dumb you must be (just from a financial angle; ignoring everything else) to burn all of these bridges do that you can sell an Uwe Boll movie that was free on Twitter

The owner really said "I don't care if the movie kills every immigrant as long as I get paid." I realize this is a very niche thing here, but a german mediabook producer (Retro Gold 63) just partnered with them for distro so clearly the owner is trying to expand, and the word is not getting around.

(update: preorders are non-refundable, and they are denying that this was kenny. Sure looks like him to me though, it's his profile picture and he's been talking up his citizen vigilante release on facebook)

Found this from a thread 9 months ago where they were called out for using AI and this was the response sent back. I guess the company found this reddit post, called the dude and told him to "suck a tailpipe" www.reddit.com/r/boutiquebl... Recorded call is in there too. Absolutely wild.

oh yeah, they've been using AI rampantly. I didn't even point that one out as it's been pretty clear in their recent releases. they use it for the title screen, and his unfinished film that they're releasing is going to be absolutely full of it.

I was less surprised by the AI and more by the response they had, especially the call, which sounded crazy (if, ya know, its real that is haha). But it tracks with that Facebook post for sure.

anyone know how to get in contact with Pyun's estate? somehow i don't think the estate of an asian-american director from hawaii is gonna be okay with the stewards of his movies behaving like this.

did some digging and if anyone's got contact info for Cynthia Curnan, it'd be appreciated. she's apparently the point of contact for estate stuff for Pyun and the one who would've been handling this deal, and almost 100% doesn't know she made the deal with giga-racist assholes.

This was a bummer! I already nabbed the Captain America disc, and was excited to order more. He’s in my state too so my local video rental shop was was going to be carrying his upcoming releases too.

What an incredibly disappointment. I had been heavily considering getting some of those, guess it's just a well I held off. :/
