Time lapse of Oakland no kings march eventually taking over both sides of Broadway from @oaklandside.org. Many thousands of people.

Folks have asked how many people this is. here are some numbers. SF: 50,000 (sf gate says 100,000) Oakland: 10,000+ (this video) San Jose: 10,000 Walnut Creek: 7,000 Marin County: 5,000 Vallejo: "thousands" (and about a dozen other locations) In total somewhere between 100-150k in the bay area.

Genuinely such a hopeful moment. I was in Marin helping my parents and it involved a fair bit of driving around and people were everywhere, on overpasses, at the mall…even out in pt Reyes. Marin is not great culturally but that felt pretty neat
