I tried to delete some files from a USB stick on macOS. macOS: "This operation cannot be completed because the disk is full." πŸ†

More details: I had a full "disk" on my Nexus 7, but couldn't delete anything because there wasn't enough RAM free to run the file management "app", even though nothing of mine was running. One of those lovely things software engineering has made familiar.

I managed to recover by running the magazine "app", which used less RAM and allowed me to delete the single pre-installed magazine, which somehow got me over the threshold. Still don't fully understand it. Nice machine otherwise, though. I still have it, occasionally power it up.

Nexus 7 honestly best tablet of all time for me in terms of form factor. You could make it faster, have more RAM, and not boot loop after a year or whatever was wrong with it, but just felt like the perfect size.

This was also a feature of CephFS. unlink -> ENOSPC. Which turned out to be a cursed side effect of how they handled hardlinks. Files had a "primary" entry, if you deleted that and it had more links, it went into a *fixed number of entries* orphan directory. Good times!
