Ok, I’d like your recommendation for long form group writing with access control. Ideally OIDC so we could use atproto. Knowledge base / wiki would be what these things are called. Outline Wiki be an example of an open source option. Compete with commercial offerings like Notion or Confluence.

Haha. Yes yes I have a day job! We use it internally, it's missing a number of what I call "social business features" that all these others do, too -- @-mentions, notifications. It has great comments and versioning! The team is actively working on many of those things, but it's also not a product.

For OIDC-capable open-source collaboration KBs, consider Git-backed wikis (MkDocs/Sphinx) hosted with OIDC. Joplin or Obsidian also work for self-hosting, though group-edit integration varies. Define the API/graph structure before the UI.

Yeah, those git backed wikis really aren't usable enough (I know this is subjective). WikiJS is another one that can do that. Not looking for "docs" but rather "we're running a group / organization and have shared updates about projects and activities" -- aka knowledgebase.

Integrating a collaboration layer like Buzz directly with git-tracked knowledge bases is a powerful architectural move. Maintaining system data flow in a dedicated environment greatly improves workflow transparency. It's a solid direction for self-hosted agent ecosystems.

Our step 1 for docs is to support other doc-shaped lexicons like Leaflet and Lichen as rich embeds in Roomy. Honestly think leaflet is just an alt-interface away from being the kind of notion-like Boris is after here.

All-in-ones that move between modalities of chat / comments / docs / forum that @roomy.space has been aiming towards is a very cool direction. @erlend.sh has seen it all before! My other need is “need a complete product now because I need to build out several groups”

I feel like I went down this road before and the options aren't getting any better. Anyway, collecting things in @semble.so and we'll see what we find.

I started a @semble.so collection on Knowledgebase Apps. I found @tyler.fun's Semble self-hostable notion replacements and found Docmost from that. Open, but enterprise locked features, including no sso for community. Aargh!

The current set of options is underwhelming. Obsidian syncing to permissioned spaces is likely the best way to handle things on protocol and have a good editor for now. leaflet docs should be viable in this space, but the navigation, search, and user groups need more still.

Also @habitat.network is actively focused on delivering this for orgs. @lichen.wiki is a wiki, also doesn’t have strong multiplayer features today. Obsidian isn’t designed for multiplayer usage. Shared notes are just the start of making something usable for groups.

I’m excited to see all of the atproto options grow! @leaflet.pub having comments, mentions, and notifications built in gives it a good head start!
