This is actually a little early this year. The last two waves have happened in early July 2025 and 2024. June is the end of the fiscal for MS. I’d be curious if these actually go through before July 1st.

Microsoft is bad for the video game industry. Pure and simple. They spend hundreds of billions to buy studios. They don't have to close them. They can keep them open, but instead, because Microsoft is a larger entity that makes more money outside video games, they treat these people like numbers

yeah, it's tied to when companies go over budget and headcount which is always at the end of a half (or leading up to it) or the end of Q3. (i used to work in recruiting and it is a literal schedule some companies have for reduction)
