Satellite imagery and AIS data show that a Russian vessel, has shuttled between Cameroon and Gabon four times since March. Experts told Bellingcat that the unusual set of movements warrants scrutiny, especially as the ship is under sanction and is previously reported to have shipped arms.

Experts previously told us that the Russian vessel's movements, going back and forth around the west coast of Africa, were highly unusual and may warrant scrutiny. The tanker, which is under sanctions, has previously been reported to have transported weapons.

It remains unclear as to what the Patria has delivered or picked up at these ports on the African continent. Read our investigation into the vessel's strange behaviour earlier this year on our website: www.bellingcat.com/news/africa/...
