Introducing DoomScroll - an endless feed of thousands of user-made Doom WADs from the last 32 years, all playable right in your browser. Our goal was to make decades of work from one of the most creative communities in gaming history more accessible and visible to everyone.

The community has built so much over the years, and there's no question that Doom has had a lasting influence on the game industry as we know it today. Many of today's industry veterans cut their teeth making mods for Doom, and you can see some of their work here.

There's so much stuff here - everything from simplistic maps made by kids just learning how game development works, all the way up through full total conversions with all-new music, textures, and sprites, made by volunteer teams that went on to become full-fledged game studios.

This is great! This is something that I wished existed for a long time - seriously, great job!

Not sure if this Is an ongoing project but it would be great if the site formatting would work on phones. Having a portable room machine would be very cool

Yeah, I have some plans to improve mobile support, but making a WebGL-based app that does responsive layout is hard 😅

Is this site still up? Chrome says "... refused to connect". Some site checkers say it's up, while others say down - e.g. issitedown.net?check=doomsc... says it gets a 521 response.

Site's still down, Christmas Island NIC seized the domain and has been incommunicative. I'm working on some improvements to the site to make it clear to casual observers that we aren't violating anyone's copyrights and the site is legit before relaunching with a new domain. bsky.app/profile/bai....

The reason the site checkers disagree about whether it's up is that the domain seizure redirects to a page about ICANN verification failure, but that site is only hosted on http:// and not on https:// - so if you load doomscroll.cx you get content, but not if you load doomscroll.cx
