I wouldn’t say easily, because the media is fully captured by right-wing kook narratives and propaganda infrastructure built over decades, but it’s certainly possible to break through the crazy at times.

Agreed. The story was originally supposed to be a hitpiece on Osoff (and still might be on the right), but the implications and speculations are salacious enough to be fuel for the industrial rumor mill of modern "news".
