Swalwell: "I want to knock out this argument we even need ICE doing what they're doing in the first place. If they are so easily moved from our streets, where they are terrorizing people, to passing out bottles of water in the airport, did we really need them terrorizing people in the first place?"

Depends on how you define need. If you’re a bigoted, Christian fundamentalist that wants a white only society then you need ICE. Otherwise, they are a cancer on society

No, we never needed them and will never need them terrorizing people. We really don’t need them at all. Immigration is a net benefit to our country. The government needs to get out of people’s way, we are very happy to work hard and build a strong country if you’d just leave us the fuck alone.

Terrorizing CITIZENS was the ENTIRE point...especially the deliberate disappearing and detention of CITIZENS into their concentration camps. THEY SPECIFICALLY PLANNED TO CREATE A DETERRANCE EFFECT SO IT WOULD DETER CITIZENS...C.I.T.I.Z.E.N.S...FROM SHOWING UP TO VOTE WHEN ICE GETS POSTED AT POLLS.

THIS IS ABSURD! ICE is handing out bottles of water to people standing in TSA lines at airports, while many locations in America have made it ILLEGAL to provide water or snacks to citizens standing in line to vote! What the hell kind of priority choice is this?!

You're right it's pretty fucking stupid since you can't take liquids through security. Yeah call the White House and tell him how you feel. That should do it.

Not my point at all, slow-witted one. Most people can finish off a 16.7 oz. bottle of water in less than the 2-hour wait most passengers are facing. I noted that Trump/MAGAts/Republicans object to, & have passed laws against the innocent act of distributing water to voters waiting hours to vote.

"If they are so easily moved from our streets, where they are terrorizing people, to passing out bottles of water in the airport," do we really need them AT ALL? The answer is NO. #AbolishICE

Yeah, everything with this administration is a lie. The purpose state is always just a smokescreen, an excuse. ICE has nothing to do with border protection or immigration. Their action demonstrate this daily.

Perhaps their best function is passing out bottles of water to immigrants lining up for appointments at immigration courts and other immigration centres? But those jobs could be done by unemployed folk who don’t haven’t be equipped with side arms, masks, ill fitting camouflage uniforms and shades!

From MAGAs past performance and rethoric he will continue to use ICE as his personal police force. Their budget is larger than many countries, and that's before the 200B more he is demanding.

He needs them for October It takes time to dehumanise and brutalise them They should be ok for killing in October, making sure the November elections never happen America should do something about him before he kills them all

At no point is there ever any negative consequences for anyone aligned with republicans. Do something, anything, to prove that the United States of America is a functioning democracy. The all mighty Constitution and its Bill of Rights seems like the weakest and most pathetic document ever written.

Mr. Appeasement says what? Swalwell, January 2019, "I was a prosecutor, I would know if Trump had broken any laws, there are no impeachable offences". After Swalwell and Pelosi came home for the 2019 summer break, they changed their tune very quickly.

No we did not. It's obvious these guys are this administration's own private army. Some would call them the gestapo to do his bidding. I wonder how many of them came from the January 6th insurrection 🤔 never forget... 30573

I don’t understand why people keep thinking that ICE is a legitimate law enforcement agency, when its purpose is, and always has been, to serve as Trump’s Stasi/Gestapo. Why do you think ICE has been buying up 100,000 sq. ft. warehouses across the country? 1/2

2/2 They may be used to temporarily hold immigrants about to be deported, but their real use will be to incarcerate Trump’s political opponents and those folks he considers undesirable (e.g., LGTBQ folks, muslims, atheists, drug addicts, homeless folks, etc)

I have probably seen 20 ICE agents in terminal A at IAH in the 40 minutes we have been in line. One was handing out water. The rest have nothing to do. Why are our tax dollars paying for this?

the DHS shut down and Putting ICE in the airports was a premeditated plan to make it palatable when they are positioned at your nearest voting booth to influence the elections.

We do not need ICE or Homeland Security, a Bush fiasco. We already had the "U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)" and "CBP (U.S. Customs and Border Protection)" managing things before 9/11. What we didn't have was a comprehensive immigration policy.

Minor quibble: the actual names of those entities prior to DHS were the Immigration and Naturalization Service, and the US Customs Service. “Service” being the operative word/function. Both served us well and I agree DHS should be dismantled and its functions reverted to prior versions/depts.

DHS was established under the PATRIOT Act to rid the government of the Civil Service rules that prevented spoils system hiring and gave us a functional, professional civil service. PATRIOT needs to be repealed.

We have a comprehensive immigration policy. Trump is using it quite effectively, despite the lies Biden told. It's just not a policy that leads to the results you want.

Bannon: "test run to perfect ICE involvement in 2026 midterm" Fed law explicitly bans deployment of fed troops or other armed fed agents to polling places unless “such force be necessary to repel armed enemies" 18 U.S.C. § 592, 18 U.S.C. § 593, 18 U.S.C. § 595 www.brennancenter.org/our-work/pol...

brennancenter.orgModel Bill: State Accountability for Federal Interference at Polling PlacesState laws can deter federal agents from intimidating voters, as state prosecutions are not affected by presidential pardons or Justice Department decisions.

Do we really need them at the airports handing out water? They are getting a hefty paycheck (unlike TSA who are getting 0 paychecks) to be Walmart greeters? 😪🇺🇸

2 US 2 RF which ones which? Flynn and Ivan Raiklin (Soviet born) Krasnov's Secretary of Retribution. How do we know anything about these agents? If you ask for employment records, they can lie. This administration is the most deceitful group I've ever seen. Use the aggressive crew on the streets

They may be in Georgia. But Georgia made it illegal to give water to people in voting lines.😠 Would it be illegal to "sell" the water? For a nickel. Which could be paid later.

Plus -Trump demonstrated it was unnecessary to hold up TSA worker's pay. He used the chaos created as a leverage point against the interests of We the People, even resulting in economic hardship for these workers. Trump showed it was totally unnecessary for ICE to be placed in airports doing zilch.

I can tell you what we do not need. We do not need ICE killing peaceful observers on our streets. We do not need ICE locking people up in concentration camps or flying them out of the country without due process.

The idiots aren't doing anything. They are getting paid $50 an hour to wander uselessly around the airports, while the ones working their asses off... TSA agents, get paid NOTHING. This is INSANE... this is pure tRump stupidity at its finest.

The ICE dweebs I've seen (unmasked) at the airports really don't seem to be the same roided out, masked thugs excecuting citizens in the streets.

Fr, why are we paying ICE agents $50/hr and $50K signing bonuses to pass out bottles of water in the airport? Do we even need that? How about we fire ICE and use that money to pay TSA? Or our kids’ teachers, so they don’t have to get second jobs in order to keep their teaching jobs?

No, we don't need them in the streets. In Florida and Texas they made over 77,000 arrests in the first 41 weeks of 2025 alone. But since Minnesota doesn't follow their lead and honor ICE detainers, allowing illegal aliens to be picked up at the jail with two agents and a car, they have to be there.
