Federalism is the firewall against tyranny. States aren’t just administrative units—they’re constitutional safeguards. The real test now is whether they’ll use that power to defend citizens’ rights and hold federal officers accountable when the federal government won’t.

The Democrats reliance on SCOTUS and federal power to deter opposition policy, at the expense of down-ballot and State races is proving to be the greatest American political strategy bungle since Hamilton agreed to duel Burr.

Leadership failed to secure the border. So the city is forced into reactive solutions instead of proactive ones, just like farmers forced to trap hogs after their land is already wrecked. Bottom line: Strong borders = strong fences. Weak borders = traps and emergency responses.

Honestly the constitution needs to be redone with all human rights, safety especially for children like marriage bans, and environmental and food safety protections. Then each state should be a functioning government that just works with each other. Get rid of the fed, obviously they are useless.

This is terrific, although nine years too late. The states have amply demonstrated that they have no appetite for enforcing their laws in cases of MAGA or federal criminality. Whether this is due to abject cowardice, or tacit complicity, is irrelevant. The states inaction will be the end of us all.

How does any Governor protect his state from the ICE and Border Patrol thugs who come armed and prepared to kill at will? Asking in all seriousness.

Proper enforcement of the law and the applicable amendments, including all of the first TEN, would have ensured that it would have. The deliberate inaction of the POTUS in not calling out the DC national guard would have preluded the horror of the J6 insurrection that he caused.
