Buying nothing on Friday means the corporations still get your money either the day before or the day after. By the next quarterly earnings report it won't even register as significant. They still got your money. It does send a message but ultimately one they can ignore. 2/x

However, shifting that money over into the hands of local independent businesses means the corporations will not get your money sooner or later. That money went back into your communities. 3/x
