Why do I feel like Strega Nona is also just out of frame?

It's funny you're at least the third person to get dePaola vibes from this piece. I think its the thick outlines and muted watercolors. A big compliment either way

Brambly Hedge was absolutely formative to me. I remember poring over those illustrations, and now I’m reading them to my kids and still so impressed.
