The Little Engine goes through a looong tunnel and gasses everyone, leading to the electrification of the line. Or anything involving an actually realistic steam engine, they’re hilariously filthy and dangerous and people who run them at museums HATE how Disneyfied they are in media.

What is under appreciated in this story is the role of the clown in keeping everyone's spirits up after numerous rejections. They are the unsung hero.

the encouraging clown has a major role in the readers theater Little Engine that I've created :-) plus speaking roles for the teddy bear with no neck, the giraffe with the long neck and the baby elephant too!
