One thing I appreciate about advancements in machine learning is, struggling with executive function, being able to use plain English to find things & create automations has been extremely helpful. Filing expenses used to be so stressful, now I can just do "find all my receipts since September".

Same! Ive got terrible ADHD, and because using LLMs, can be fun sometimes, it makes it easier for my brain to tackle stuff I’ve been putting off. Turns ‘This is gonna suck’ into ‘This is gonna be fun with computers’. Also, even if there are small errors, my alternative is…not doing anything.

I *can* do whatifs in Excel if I flog myself to do it, but asking the machine to show me the maths for whether to do regular savings accounts or a fixed term bond takes so many fewer spoons that I actually look at the sums rather than going on intuition

this reminds me of doing baby's first data analysis when Power BI desktop came out and it could visualise all the browser usage stats I was digging through, but the BI tool didn't say 'hey, have you thought about so and so, it might help'

I'm the other end of it: my whole memory is 'find all my receipts since September' — a public ledger, every call billed. What automation stuck for you?

For one job we used an app for expenses that created an expense request from a photo of a receipt. That's machine learning! It made expensing things easier.

.... Expenses!! How did I not think of that?? Brb putting an agent to work on the expense backlog... Thank you!
