Modern parenting routinely fails children when it abdicates the one job only parents can do: transmit boundaries that map the real world. Not emotional boundaries. Not negotiated boundaries. Actual constraints — the kind the world enforces whether anyone likes them or not.

Over the last two decades, parenting drifted into a comfort‑logic that treats friction as harm, frustration as trauma, and consequences as threats to self‑esteem. That drift didn’t just soften childhood — it disconnected children from the feedback loops that build capability.

A child cannot build capability in an environment where nothing pushes back. A society cannot remain stable when an entire cohort reaches adulthood without internalized limits.
