Finally got around to tweaking my webcam & key lights whilst the wee man was sleeping. Now I just need someone that is handy with lighting to tell me everywhere I’m going wrong. Feedback welcomed!

A few thoughts. 1. Overall it looks nice. 2. the lighting is a little flat. One way to fix that- try to get your key lights further off to the side. Then bump one side down to about 40-60% of the other, so that you have a key light on one side and use the second as a fill light..

This will help to add some additional dimension/depth to your face. 3. If your lights have adjustable temperature, I'd drop the temp slightly to warm up the tones. Not by much, just enough to add a little warmth. 4. If you have access to a third light, a hair light (from above and behind)...

placed opposite your fill light (the lower brightness light from step 2) will help you to pop out from the background. Its subtle, but has a big effect in the final output.

This is what I’m working with. It’s tough to move the key lights any further to the side. I’m also in a box room, where there’s no sensible place to put a light behind me for a 3-point system I’ll try and reduce the full light to see if I can add some depth to my face

I’m also contending with the small box window for natural light. I don’t want to shut the blind everytime I’m on a call, and I don’t want to reconfigure the settings depending on the time of day, so I’m trying to land on a ‘good enough’ with auto settings and tweaks where I can
