Any Governor that can't find out if an elected official representing his state is dead or not within an hour or two is a terrible Governor. This should not be hard to do for the top official in the state. It's a choice not to.

I don’t know the law but if he can’t confirm that McConnell is able to do his job, he should call for a special election and let the Republicans take him to court. That’s what a Republican governor would have done in the same situation.
