It's easy to laugh at the failed fairs, empty crowds, and vanity projects. It's much harder to ignore what's happening behind the scenes. Trump's latest failures may be laughable. The damage to our institutions isn't. open.substack.com/pub/adamkinz...

today’s SCOTUS decision gives all the power to rich people and corporations. And the politicians will do whatever the big donors want. The average guy will be far less likely to vote. The system will only become more corrupted. The democracy is shrinking rapidly.

Which is part of the problem. haha no one’s at the fair. Haha the reflecting pool is green. Meanwhile our democracy is dead and the midterms are in danger of being overrun. Thank you for stating what should be obvious

Damage to so many people and their children has been conveyed upon ignorant magas who will suffer the consequences along with all of us. Hope they wake up soon. Remember, vote like your life depends upon it and it does with this administration.

I am honestly a little surprised that the entire MAGA base rejected Trump’s events. It’s surely indicative of his waning popularity. They apparently didn’t even hire the audience like they usually do

All we have left is our laughter. We either laugh or we cry. Our country and democracy are dead. We now live in a world where money is key to everything. If you have it, someone will steal it and if you don't have it you probaly never will.

I lived in the DC area for nearly 30 years -- went back this April for a memorial service and almost cried. It was like the light was sucked out of this glorious city - and that's even before the Reflecting Pool and all of the other crap he's done to destroy DC.

Imagine if we didn't have lawmakers who spent most of the time voting against the will of the people in almost a straight partisan way that gave all this leverage and power to rich people who then buy our politicians. Yeah

There is a way to reverse this. Keep fighting. Registered voters have to show up and do their part. We wont be able to fix anything if we don't vote. Dreaming of Nuremberg 2.0.

He permanently damaged the marble at the Kennedy Center. Why would any president put their name on another president’s memorial center? That is extremely bizarre. Why can’t he just turn MAL into his own Graceland or Wallyworld? That would make more sense. It looks like a debauched circus there already.

I firmly believe he is looting the millions allocated to this fair. Where have the millions of dollars gone, sure as hell didn't go into those tacky plywood buildings or performers Somebody is pocketing those millions

As a 12 year old kid in UK, I was fascinated and impressed by the bicentennial celebrations in '76. I remember thinking that I should still be alive for the 250th anniversary, and how cool the celebrations would be then. Now I'm just saddened by the whole bloody mess. PS. Release the Epstein files!
