We have the opportunity to change Congress this November. If we use that opportunity, it can be done. The only question is, will people show up in the numbers we need to get the job done?

Just like we should have erased the Confederacy from the public square.

There needs to be a plan to quickly expose everything of this entire regime, and everyone that benefitted from them. No immunity. Prosecute all involved. No pardons.

Elect a DOJ instead of filling it from potus. Every 4 yrs a potus should be able to pick a new Supreme Court justice and switch one out. Like a term limit.

I don't think the USA will ever be "restored" after Trump. This is the end of the US empire. And the fall of that empire will be extremely painful for the citizens of the USA.

Send him to the Hague and confiscate all his properties and bank accounts.

Our Laws are societal. Our Laws are intended for those who follow them Our Laws are for the majority Our Laws are reactive. Criminals know this, criminals are not the majority, criminals act and then move to relieve the consequences of their actions after the fact. Trump is a criminal.

The ancient Romans called this damnatio memoriae. It didn't work. Yes We the People need to go forward We need to evaluate and if necessary amend the ambiguities present in the constitution, perhaps requiring that to declare an emergency Congress must agree by a supermajority that there is one.

I’ll be honest with you, this is penny poker. Take every thing tRump did and reverse uno it. Declare MAGAt a terrorist organization. Round up the worst of them and sent them to The Hague in chains. Start with Alito, Thomas, Roberts, his cabinet, everyone in congress who tried the J6 treason. Etc.

We can't allow our image to be that of a people who chose to be the worst of who we can be. We need to show the world we are indeed the best we can be.

He built an empire of corruption with a capital C! We need more than guardrails!! We need the type of accountability where the perpetrators end up with their heads in the bottom of a basket or in a noose!

The article said we need to take his photo down in the White house and put Bidens back up. We need to strip his name from every building, recall all the currency with his signature, review and revoke all his policy and hold every person who aided and abetted him, accountable

I’m not really sure where you find the optimism that we will survive him. I highly doubt we have midterms. Just look at how they are acting? They aren’t acting like someone who needs to compete in a fair election. In fact they are acting exactly like someone who knows they won’t lose power.

I have a very difficult time picturing the next Dem POTUS spending any political capital on this.

Order has to be restored. The country is being run by criminals.

Legislation is needed so that no federal law, program or landmark, nor any federally funded bridge, tunnel, airport, plaza, etc, may be named for ANY living person, no exceptions. They must be dead for at least 10 years. Also, no living person on US currency & only signatures of Treasury officials.

You forgot “investigate the courts and every person who served in his administration”. Specifically every single justice he appointed. Any and all corruption needs to be prosecuted.

That’s where the DOJ becomes the problem. They should be elected.

Designate any currency with Trump‘s signature on it “a stinker” and require it to be exchanged for legal tender.

Why isn’t there an easily accessible and searchable/sortable website listing all of Trump’s outrages? I think we need to be reminded of the totality of his madness.

It further requires the creation of a vehicle for undoing the disastrous Trump v United States court decision, and the aggressive pursuit of sedition/insurrection charges against all of his enablers in public office.

I think anger is a very appropriate response to what Trump and Trumpism have done to the United States.

You're right that there needs to be consequences for America to recover and start being orderly and fair again though. It's never been this bad. And it'll only get worse (Russia and North Korea levels of worse) unless we start restoring the rule of law, and moral character.

We need to prosecute anyone who participated in breaking the law for tRump. As Adam says, not out of revenge but out of respect for the LAW.

We also need structural reforms that weaken the presidency and empowers Congress, creates an electoral system that elects qualified and serious people, and avoids further elections of demagogues. How else can we assure our allies and others that this won’t just happen again in 4 or 8 years?

We need to make politics unprofitable: One cannot be a public servant while profiting from politics. This extends to every branch. We elect and pay for persons to represent the American people, not themselves.

I request one exemption: name a federal max prison after trump; designate it as the new home for him and all of his corrupt family, greedy friends, and enabling supporters. Otherwise, I wholeheartedly agree with your plan.

Abolish the Electoral College. Everyone’s vote should count equally Expand the House to account for a population that’s 3 times larger than the last expansion Base the number of Senate seats on House Seats. The Senate is broken (every state starts with 1. Then gets 1 for every 4 House seats?)

And then seize all the unearned assets, pay off the debts, prosecute and imprison the perpetrators. Gitmo has space and I hear the weather is nice.

This gave me a bit of hope for the future.

The key is the next POTUS has to erase and reverse EVERYTHING Trump. Every single thing.

Do you still espouse the conservative notions of lowering taxes on the rich and limiting government services and benefits for regular people? Privatization of prisons and schools, utilities and hospitals? SSI, Medicare etc? Making abortion illegal? Abolishing gay marriage? Persecuting trans people?
