American men want to force themselves on women and kids because that gives them the illusion of having power. Disgusting deterioration and decomposition of the American male character. They lifted a chlLd rapl$t to the highest seat in the land.

bsky.app/profile/lafa... You have been lied to. Slave elector collage thinks your too dumb to have a voice on laws that affect your life and keep you in a state of amnesia and domestic servitude. DON'T YOU DESERVE A SLICE OF THIS PIE? You know I'm right! Blessings #Adam-Kinzinger You a good dude

Like my blood before me. I have to be honest with you. We have NEVER BEEN A DEMOCRACY. We was a liberal democratic Republic that betrayed the declared independence & sold aristocracy out for oligarchy who wants jim crow!. THIS IS WHAT IS AT STAKE!. however JESUS was quite the DEMOCRATIC SOCIALIST

bsky.app/profile/lafa... Please right in solidarity with me in the spirit of the Marque! Je Suis de La Fayette!

300 is a good number. I need 300 of ya with 📣 megaphones because insurrection is illegal and truth slices deeper than swords. I was born the day of REVOLUTION. I've caused a SPIRITUAL REVOLUTION. Now I need strong people with courage and I'll be your North star. TIME FOR A POLITICAL REVOLUTION!

Watched episode 5 of the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and the creed of a knight was the theme: BE HONOURABLE, KIND and PROTECT vulnerable people of society. Should chivalry not be revived? Thank you Mr Kinzinger.

For 10 years, everything masculine was labeled as “toxic”. So, we abandoned masculinity… and the idiotic Republican’ts gladly stepped in! Now we need to TAKE IT BACK… cuz it ain’t working for them! 🤘💙💛💀💛💙🤘

Real masculinity is protecting those that are weaker than you. Trump masculinity is exploiting everyone that’s weaker than you and bowing down to Putin, wearing lifts and make up and being scared of animals 😂

I took care of my dying wife for 18 months. Towards the end she was bedridden. I had to feed her, change her, do everything for her. That is masculinity.

That is such a kind story. This isn’t just you, but it does confuse me when people define masculinity. It feels like people lump every good action a man can do into masculinity and every bad one into toxic masculinity. It feels like these words don’t mean much when used for half of the population.

Nothing is more masculine to me than a man, young or old, who tenderly takes the hand of a toddler to protect, nurture, or settle and calm them in the midst of unrest.

Or maybe just talk about being a good person. So much emphasis on re/defining “masculinity” really hasn’t gotten us to a better place. It’s all a road to reinforcing the patriarchy… which we definitely don’t need.

The problem is that most stupid people put the cart before the horse. I would focus first on becoming human, then pick a gender if being a man doesn’t come naturally to you.

Real masculinity would be the men on the men's hockey team supporting their fellow female hockey team by also refusing the WH invite to the State of the Union address.

In ancient times, the alpha male was the guy that took care of his tribe or village. Protected everybody and made sure nobody is left behind. Not the drunk village idiot that yells or burps the loudest.

Real masculinity isn't the chest beating, beer downing steriod gym bunny laddish behaviour that is exemplified by Frat Bro's and the current US regime. It's being there for family, doing your share of house chores, not being emotionally absent. You can still do sports, chill but consider others.

Toxic masculinity, namely the idea that a man can somehow stop being a man if he doesn't behave in a certain way, is literally deadly to men. It's the main reason why young men do stupid things and die from them. It's also why so many men commit suicide. It's bad for men as well as everyone else.

What I hear you saying is bullies are actually wimps but they are in charge at the moment. I learned about real strength from my mother, the kindergarten teacher. Protecting others. Kindness. Helping. That's strength.

My husband is the manliest man I know. Why? Because he gives a shit about other human beings. He has compassion for people & doesn’t feel the need to tear them down. He isn’t a misogynist or a racist. He protects those who need him & he does it all while maintaining his masculinity. Go figure. 🤷‍♀️

I really hate to be a wet blanket, bc all of those things are great, but… … they’re all secondary. To me, the no. 1 piece of masculinity is: *Producing, protecting, and defending what matters most (eg family, biz) Until a message hits that target, it’s missing the mark. (in my humble opinion)

That is a ridiculous definition of masculinity. What are you protecting women and children from? Men. From yourself. No one needs protection from you: they need you to stop attacking other people. And your role goes away.

I am saying that *YOUR* take makes men irrelevant. We don’t need an ‘other’ to provide particular societal functions. Example: gay parents.

An "alpha" doesn't eat first; it makes sure every member of the pack eats. It doesn't push around the smaller members; it makes sure they don't get pushed around. The pack doesn't follow it out of fear; they follow it out of trust.

All the traits I'm seeing here are not specifically masculine. It's hard enough trying to be all those things like courageous and compassionate with a selfless endurance, etc., why worry about whether that's masculine enough? Those that are these things surely don't.

Real men wear pink, do dishes and laundry, respect women, love and support their spouse/partner. Real men are not emasculated by successful women. Real men are amazing. I have one and I raised one. ❤️

you can Make a BIG Difference!!! , now is also the actual time to get involved and volunteer for the mid-term elections, Stand up, speak up, no one will do it for YOU!!!! Otherwise, you may have 2 more years of trump's and the spineless republicans chaos

MAGA always confuse machismo with masculinity. If you can only feel like a man if you're oppressing or denigrating others, you might be hung like a cashew.

And yet you spent the majority of your career in politics letting the GOP define what was right. Really? You played a role in bringing the country this nightmare and have yet to come to terms with that.

I don't agree with Kinzinger's conflation that the rise of #MeToo (who rightly pointed out toxic masculinity) with creating space for the populist politic MAGA movement to take over and truly turn masculinity toxic. The rise of the highly organised, strategic & well funded populist politics...

is felt across all aspects of society. Where a wedge can be driven the crack left is filled by the crafted words of a politician who happen to 'say the things we are all thinking'. This is the work of think tanks who strategize, attack, repeat & have 3rd parties repeat again. They divide to conquer.

We must learn the tactics of think tanks and tell people what is happening. Once people learn they become immune. Who funds the think tanks? What are their real agendas? You know the answer. Bernie Sanders has been telling us... for years...its billionaires.

Think tank strategies & processes gave us; Project 2025, funding for alternate news (think NewsMax & X) from billionaire funding, funding for Bannon & co to prosecute arguments like 'fake news', etc, Charlie Kirk ran a think tank.

One of the many things that makes me crazy is that MAGA supposedly wants to roll back to an olden times when things were better, yet they reject the form of masculinity Adam describes, which much more closely matches the form masculinity took in the olden times.

Humans were hunter-gatherers for millions of years. Hunter-gatherers don't really have gender roles and they are equals. All healthy adults go out and hunt and gather together. As equals. That is normal human behavior. There is no need to define masculinity. It is just humanity.

Modern American constipated "masculinity" is a Hollywood creation. Read old books: heroes bursting into tears, and THEN doing the hard thing that's right.

Sorry Adam - you're letting the toxic people define what the "toxic masculinity" label was actually about. You're letting them re-write history, accepting their facts-adverse narrative about the issue. It wasn't saying 'masculinity' was toxic, just that toxic ideas about masculinity were... toxic.

I’ll tell you what real masculinity is. It’s a congressman who fights, even when most of his colleagues take the easy way out. It’s a man who cares about everyone, especially those who are weak and need help. He is a man that plays Barbie’s with his daughter. Trumpbros are children playing dress up.

I agree with you on a lot of this, but not the idea that “for ten years anything masculine was called toxic.” Having paid close attention to the topic over time, I just don’t think that’s true. There have been too many men modeling true masculinity that whole time …Obama, for one. You, for another.

The trouble is, real masculinity is often typified by stoic silence. We’re not going to be shouting out something that doesn’t need to be said about ourselves. That’s why Nick Adams et al all seem so hopelessly un-masculine.

all of those traits ought to be included in a definition of healthy, non-toxic masculinity, but I'd also include them in a definition of non-toxic humanity as well, irrespective of gender. Men are still figuring out their role. Good thing that show with the gay hockey guys came out, could be a model

Agreed, a true player is he who is compassionate, understanding, and loving. A person who knows his politics, world affairs, and loves his community.
