I have a sick feeling that Leon has his tentacles in this to use to his advantage later. Am I naïve? 100%. BUT imagine if it is him being clever, he can pretend to be "solving" the problem just to prove some government ineptitude and divert funds to his pockets so he can continue keeping us "safe."

Hey it isn’t just maga. Its the rest of us. I am losing faith in my government to protect us. Within hours we should have known what these are. They fly on the west coast and British Columbia Canada. It they are not a threat then its ok to explain. Is it practice, spreading disease, snooping?

local facebook group, someone posted a truck towing a Tie Fighter (from Star Wars) and claimed it was a shot down drone. No joke, at least 5-6 MAGA (clearly maga from profiles) took it as real. One said "It is true, saw the story on tiktok). There is no fixing this.

Yesterday, my mom's handyman professed his outrage over kitty litter boxes in public school bathrooms. Punchline, it's the 2nd one she's let go for spouting kitty litter box fear & MAGA conspiracy. How can folks believe this stuff? How do they think it makes good business sense to tell customers?

I live in the drone zone too, even saw one over the ocean. Also saw about 10 planes that people were claiming as drones. Either way the local groups are INSANE, calling for people to shoot them down. Could get dangerous if people start to listen.

The comments are written by 20-something bros, living in the their Mom’s basements, confused between video games, sci-fi movie plots, OnlyFans feeds, and reality. Their only source of self-pride comes when someone gives their comment a LIKE. Unfortunately, this isolation breeds such thoughts.

On Wednesday night a small plane crashed on takeoff out of Westchester Airport NY onto I-684. People were posting on Fb grainy video of it claiming it was a crashed drone.

So in the last hundred years we have developed stealth aircraft and night vision technologies and people still believe aliens from an advanced civilization perhaps even a 100K years more advanced would need lights on their craft and would make them so obviously visible?

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the delivery companies is trying to see how safe their drones would be if the general public didn't know what they were doing. That way if they do launch drone delivery they have data to show how the average person would react.

Wouldn’t the FAA and/or air traffic controllers be able to disprove these sightings with one public statement? When reps from the White House go on the news and state how they do not know what they are, this only fuels these conspiracy theories.

The problem is that they'd have to go and disprove *every* alleged sighting and the second one of them slips the paperwork or gets misidentified coordinates, THAT becomes "proof" that we're being swarmed by Iranian drones piloted by Venusian lizard people or whatever the Roseanne horseshit is.

There are always a small number of people posting ridiculous explanations. Most people just ignore them, you should too. Listen to those who are credible instead like cops and coastguard. Sometimes I think unless something happens in DC it's never taken seriously.

Most likely, nobody is behind it. If people go outside at night and look at the sky expecting to see UFOs, they see UFOs. If they're looking for drones, they see "drones." It's expectation bias.

The fact the drones have lights is the single biggest reason why this hysteria is bullshit (and there are plenty of other good ones.) Lights on aircraft exist for one reason…to be seen. Iran, aliens, whatever, would not want these to be seen if it were really them.
