We were looking for a mattress when we recently moved and every sales person goes on and on about how "memory foam has tech that makes it always go back to it's original shape". Except that's not how it works. After enough compression, the foam "sets" and never expands.

Yep I had a Tempur mattress years ago, was good for a few years till exactly that happened (and we flipped it yearly)

My sister bought it and sent it back. Did not find it comfortable. Last bed we bought we tried instore and it's a good as the day we bought it 20yrs ago (Kingsdowne, from Sleepys)

Interesting, the send back part and high Choice rating on the SE model tempts me.. Trying to find a real person who actually likes it! None so far.

I have been repeatedly led wrong by choice on mattresses. They’re bad at reviewing them.

For back health, I would avoid foam mattresses over pocket springs. I can recommend the Bed Shed Insignia, or Regal Sleep.
