I hear it less now, but right after I got diagnosed, I heard how young I was and (genuine) "bless your heart"s and "oh sweetie"s quite often. 😬

Oh yah, for a long time the cardiologist's receptionists would literally just NOT SEE ME, like their eyes would just slide right past me looking for the patient.

While we were surrounded by 70+ year olds, a receptionist commented "you never see young people crochet!" and I came very close to asking if she meant that she never saw young people in her waiting room. 👀

First time I went to this one cardiologist, I held the door for a woman who I quickly realized was BLIND -- like she was unable to see the reception desk, asked me to walk her up there -- and had DRIVEN HERSELF.
